I purchased some Phonak Audeo Yes IX’s from David Regan several months ago. After all the hoops and what not I had to jump through with my ear doctor I am very pleased with them. I was quoted $6500.00 for the pair at a local hearing aid center. David’s price was a fraction of that. I saved so much money by going through Dave. More then I would have if I would have bought the aids from the hearing aid center and used my insurance provider.
Way more. I was unable to use the insurance because of the fact that David is in one state and I am in another at least 10 hours away. But I saved so much that it didn’t matter that I could use insurance or not. The amount of out of pocket expense was far less with David then it would have been going any other way. I must say though, I had to pay $250 to get them programmed at the local hearing aid center and that fee is included in my calculations with the cost of the aids and I still came out way ahead.
The audiologist at the center told me that she had never heard of any one doing this before but she could see why I did when I told her how much they cost. She was shocked! She said there was no way that they could even come close to his prices. Last but not least, I had one aid completely fail about a month ago. The center sent it back to Phonak under warranty. I got a completely new aid from Phonak in about 5 days! No fees for that! I am pleased with the aids and they have really changed my life. I would recommend buying from David Regan. You will not find a better find a better price around!
I bought my Phonak Audeo Yes IX’s from David……the price he was offering was so tempting that I went ahead and made the purchase.
First of all, I love these HA’s; they are a huge improvement over my 10 year old Widex CIC’s.
Also, David’s availability, advice and service has been exemplary. He has always returned my calls and messages promptly, both during the buying process and afterwards, and his responses are helpful and knowledgable. I haven’t had any major problems in the 5 months since I’ve had them (though a couple of minor things), but if I do have problems I’m confident that I’ll get good service, as David has shown himself to be an ethical and knowledgable distributor and a stand up guy.
David’s service was terrific. I work in Philadelphia so I was able to make visits to his office to have adjustments made. His variety of accessories and prices complete an altogether first rate operation.
I would definately recommend him to anyone.
“Over the years I’ve purchased several hearing aids, and I’ve always had to settle for a certain level of disappointment.
Recently, my brother, who inherited the same hearing problems I have, recommended Dave Regan at The Auditory Scene–and it’s home at last. I’ll be brief:
Dave wears hearing aids. He knows what you’re up against. My examination was free, comprehensive and unrushed. Dave asked all the right questions and tested me thoroughly. I could have walked out with a ton of information without buying a thing.
The prices were the best I’ve ever found. And I’ve looked.
On my first visit to The Auditory Scene, I walked out with a pair of hearing aids that are virtually invisible. They changed my life.
I told Dave he can show the signed original of this message to anybody with a hearing problem. If it sounds like it was written by a professional writer, it was–but one who’s thrilled to finally hear so well.”
I admire Dave Regan’s Maketing Approach, that leads to very competitive prices for his clients and an acceptable markup for his firm. This, plus his excellent service and his exceptional technical skill will leave his competitors behind.
I have been wearing hearing aids my entire life and have been dealing with hearing aid centers forever.
Dave was great and easy to work with. He knows his stuff and doesn’t rush the process. But the best part is Dave’s enthusiasm to help.
On three separate occassions he let me try products before committing to them and he never made me feel rushed in getting the products back. That enabled me to make the best decisions because I got to use the products in my everyday environment to see what was good versus what was bad.
On top of it all, Dave has been very responsive whenever I have questions or problems.
I would recommend him in a heartbeat, and I have dealt with a lot of different dealers and audiologist through the years.
I was referred to David from a friend. He was very happy with the fitting.
I had one Versata, and I wanted to get one for my other ear. I was very impressed with the time he spent with me getting things tweaked. He gave me the most complete hearing test I have ever had. I have had a hearing loss for 30 years.
I probably would not have got a second aid, but his price convinced me to give it a try. In the end, it was very good decision.
After dealing with David, I will not buy from anyone else.
I drove 150 miles to see David, and will do it whenever neccessary again.
The hearing aids work great and he (son) love the iCom. Thanks again for all of your help!
Sincerely,
Paul H.
NOTE: Paul purchased his Audeo YES IX hearing aids from The Auditory Scene, Inc. ONLINE. The clients’ audiogram was reviewed and it was determined that the YES IX was ideal. The aids were sent to a local audiologist that Paul uses regularly. A Face to Face fitting by a professional licensed provider in accordance to law and Phonak’s policy.
I first had contact with David a year ago. I was doing research into new HA’s and wanted to be an educated consumer with such a large purchase (not covered under health insurance of course). I did my homework, decided on the HA’s I wanted (Phonak Audeo Yes IX’s ) and then attempted to buy locally. With an almost $8,000 price-tag I decided to search the Internet and see if I could do better.
That’s when I found David. His pricing was less than half of my local audiologist. I e-mailed him my audiogram and arranged a flight to Philadelphia. David picked me up at the airport, took me to his office and did the initial fitting. I then took a trip into the “real world”, wandering around downtown Philly for a couple of hours went back to David for some final “tweaks” and he drove me back to the airport. I had happily been enjoying my “half price” HA’s for nearly a year now, and have been very happy with the conversations I have had with David during that time ( really nice guy).
Well, that’s not the end of this testimonial………
Sunday, Last weekend, I managed to leave both HA’s sitting on my coffee table for a few minutes while I ran to get a shower. When I got back to put them in I realized they were both completely destroyed. My dog had decided to chew on them !!!!!
I e-mailed David with a “HELP!” and he responded within a few hours (Sunday) with instructions about how to deal with things. By Monday evening, new HA’s were on the way to David and by Thursday evening I was back to normal, WHEW!! – you don’t realize how good those things are until lose them for a while (I had to use my old HA’s , horrible by comparison).
I was fitted with a pair of Phonak ITE hearing aids back in 2002 and over the last two years they had been less and less effective. Then about two months ago they both crashed and my Audiologist gave me the news that it would cost $500.00 to have them repaired with only a 6 month warrantly, and in addition because of the change in my hearing loss they still would not meet my continued needs. The hospital she was associated with does not discount so the price I was quoted for a pair of Audeo Smart IX’s was over $6,000.00.
Well, needless to say I came home and fired up my google search, and after running the internet gauntlet of the many wolves lerking there, I happened on to http://www.auditoryscene.com. This has proven to be the happiest success story of my retirement years.
David is a prince to deal with and my new aids were delivered at a price a fraction of the above quote. I did go with the Audeo Smart IX’s and they are everything they are advertised to be. I was able to have them fitted locally for a very small fee, otherwise I was prepared to fly to Philidelphia for my fitting.
I cannot recommend David highly enough, what he is doing for all us hearing impaired sheep that are subject to the establishment shearing that we have been enduring is worthy of a medal.
Paul, this is a very welcome note and I truly appreciate your kind words.
I am very happy that you got what you wanted at the “non-sheep-sheared” price – strangely, knowing I am undercutting a greedy provider makes me fairly cheerful!
It must be the establishment shearing I received for $5995 in Philadelphia (this happened twice – once when I bought my first aids and twice when I had them stolen and had to buy another pair).
When they were stolen, I was told by the “old-hand” that sold them to me that they were not covered by the loss and damage policy. I found out a year or so later they were covered.
I had to file a lawsuit because the dog refused to honor the loss policy, since he would have to pay me back $5995. He left a check for the full amount plus my court costs the day before he was to appear in court.
